LAST CALL FOR APPLICANTS
On Food Day 2014, October 24, thousands of events around the country will unite Americans in a celebration of healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. This annual event inspires people to change their diets for the better and to take action to improve our food policies at the local, state, and national levels. Food Day aims to help people Eat Real: cut back on sugary drinks, salty packaged foods, and factory-farmed meats in favor of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and sustainably raised protein. This year, Building A Healthier Chicago’s Eat Real Chicago! initiative is hosting Chicago Food Day in Daley Plaza on October 23. Aimed at promoting nutrition education and empowering people to make better decisions for their health and communities, Chicago Food Day will feature exciting speakers, dynamic workshops, and dedicated vendors.
